The Investing in Ethiopia report highlights the opportunities in Ethiopia and discusses the business climate and government policies that favour investment in the country. Dutch investments in Ethiopia have steadily increased in recent years, and the Netherlands is among the most prominent investors in Ethiopia. In terms of the number of investments, the Netherlands is the number one investor from the European Union. Currently, there are around 100 Dutch investments in Ethiopia, with the majority in floriculture, followed by sectors such as fruits and vegetables, livestock, agro-processing, beer production, light manufacturing, construction, services and tourism.
The report was commissioned by Ethiopia-Netherlands Trade for Agricultural Growth (ENTAG), a programme coordinated by Wageningen University and Research, on behalf of the Netherlands Embassy in Ethiopia.
