The Investment Opportunities in the Rwandan Spices and Herbs Sector report examines opportunities to produce spices and herbs in Rwanda. Rwanda has the potential to grow into a spice exporter thanks to its suitable climatic conditions. The successful cultivation of tea and coffee indicate the potential lucrative cultivation of spices. At this point in time, spice production in Rwanda is still in its infancy.
Chili production for export is rapidly expanding and, more recently, ginger production for export has also started to increase. Furthermore, the Rwandan government has developed several large-scale irrigation projects that are available for export producers. Additionally, the country has a favourable business climate, offering investors incentive packages, such as duty-free imports of necessary equipment, machinery, raw materials and spare parts.
